What are some thinking in their minds?
Let's ban smoking in a bar? In a bar you can drink and get into a wreck and kill someone?
I drink at a bar too in moderation. and smoke in moderation.
Why are anti-smokers worried so much about second hand smoke when drinking can be unhealthful and deadly to? Many say, "drinking can only hurt me." What about the alcoholics. or the drunk drivers. Not all smokers are diseased.
It's like comparing apples to oranges. In a bar anyway.

Do we just want to start outlawing everything?

We proved that outlawing stuff doesn't help when we tried Prohibition. That opened the way for organized crime. I think we need less law and regulation and more common courtesy. What if we only bought tickets to movies that showed what we value instead of the ones that glorify everything that is wrong with society/ Would we have a genuine cultural revolution? It really is time for the Age of Aquarius.

So, I can't even smoke, but I'll put my say-so in. Unlike drunkenness, the smoke from your cigarette is covering my clothes in a smell I dislike, your waste of money is tainting my otherwise clean lungs. I could say that banning smoking is saving you from yourself. Yourself from a painful, slow death.
I don't like alcohol either. I tasted beer once and almost puked. But if someone told you that you can't drink in bars, imagine what would happen? The prohibtion would happen, again. It's better the government says no smoking, (long term) than no drinking (short term, in most cases.)
Maybe you should think about it this way, do the people around like you smoking? Are just smoking for yourself? Do you have kids? Why do you smoke?
Because I have a friend who has asthma, sensitive skin ( a condition is involved) something else with her lungs, all because her mom can't stop smoking. Her mom is a cancer nurse, one who sees people die from smoking.
Smoking is a waste, of money, time; to produce, use, sell, design, and life.
Life is a burning flame and there is no point to shorten it's life with a cigarette.
The government is trying to kill smoking, slowly, which is a very smart idea. So stop whining about how bad it is.

To outlaw smoking in bars is so stupid. Why doesn't someone just open up a non smoking bar? They'd get plenty of customers and then the people who like to smoke can go to one that allows it. If people don't like to drink there should be bars (or clubs) you can go to that don't serve alcohol. They would probably do well also. The Government is trying to run our lives. This is wrong. We are becoming a Comunist nation. We have to pick a Dr. from a list our insurance companies allows, a dentist our Dental insurance allows, you can't go to a specialist unless you spend money to see your primary care physician first and get a referral. What happened to freedom of choice?

I don't do bars because of all the drinking and such, but I did think that banning smoking in bars was a little overdone. Now eating places, and other public places I can understand.I don't like eating and breathing smoke.Kinda unpleasant. And then theres the after affects of second hand smoke.Asma,broncidis,etc.
Smoking isn't everything. But when people take advantage, then theres trouble.

I agree with you. It doesnt make sense to me either. Drunk drivers are killing ppl everyday. Bars are going to lose business when they ban smoking. Most ppl IN bars smoke. People will just quit going out if they ban smoking everywhere. Businesses will lose money. Oh well.*

By the tone of your question I can see you're a very angry smoker. Calm down. Yes drinking kills but so does smoking. I recommend a drink every now and then but smoking? I don't agree with it. My grandfather died of lung cancer and if the risk getting cancer doesn't worry you then it doesn't bother me either. Do what you do. I wish you the best of luck.

if you don't want to smell smoke don't go to a bar and if you don't want to wake up next to a fat girl don't go to a bar. cigarettes aren't evil they just kill people.
