I have lived in the south for 12 years and I hate it! People are so ignorant and rude! I live in a place where if you do something, everyone has to know it! People anywhere but the south,is it different?

The South is awesome I've lived here all my life (14 yrs) haha and it seems to me like everybody is always very friendly rather than the people up North (don't get me wrong i'm sure there are people up North that are friendly, and there are people in the South that aren't).I've visited places all around the US and ain't no place better than the South.

Parts of the South are full of rude and ignorant people, like parts of anywhere. I am a Southerner and while I get really tired of judgement and ignorance (and sports) I know that if you have trouble here, there will be someone to help you. I lived in the North for a couple of years and that definitely was not the case.

I am from NY, i lived in NY for 43 years and moved to Fla 6 years ago. I can honestly say things are different. When I go to the store, it seems that the cashier is in slow motion. It seems that if you want an electrician or contractor they take their sweet time getting around to doing something. However, I have found , in general people are equally as polite with the please and thank you's . I think northerners when out dancing or having a party tend to whoop it up a little bit more. I for one, would not go back to NY, it is much cheaper to live in the South and ya can't beat the weather. Remember the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence. Make your life as boring or as fun as you want it , regardless of location.
I will say one thing , and i don't mean to offend any Southerner's but the education in Northern states is harder. My 5th grade neighbor is doing school work that my kids did in 3rd grade.

Well, let me give you a bit of advice. I just moved down south to Georgia from New York, and the people down south are MUCH NICER than folks up North. So if you think it's bad down here, I highly advise you to stay where you are.

I live in Florida, but its really the North in exile. So, yeah, in "the north" people keep to themselves, generally. Of course, in Tampa, my area, different cultures are different as far as the ignorance and rudidity.

I think that life is basically the same in just about every part of the U.S. except for culturally dense areas.

From up North things are more expensive, faster paced, and people expect you to hold your own.
