Are you talking about soft drinks or alcohol? If you mean soft drinks, then it could be a reason. Soft drinks have so much caffeine in them that I don't know how anyone that drinks them sleeps. I drink one mountain dew and I bounce off the walls for days. Now your body doesn't have the energy from the caffeine to work off so your body is tired, therefore you sleep and will sleep better.

IF YOU HAVE NOT HAD AN ALCOHOLIC DRINK FOR SLEEPING, THAT'S GREAT!
THERE ARE FAR BETTER WAYS TO GET BETTER SLEEP

BUY SOME VALERIAN/PASSION FLOWER OR MELATONIN PILLS AT THE DRUG STORE. DRINK WARM MILK OR CAMOMILLE TEA. HAVE QUIET TIME TO GO THROUGH THE EVENTS OF THE DAY, AND DE-STRESS YOURSELF. TAKE A WARM BATH IN A BATHTUB.
THE KEY IS TO BE RELAXED AT BEDTIME. GOOD LUCK.

well your body isn't used to you not drinking. just take some sleeping medicine the best kind is "night sleep". you can get that anywhere. if that doesn't help then go to the doctor

Sodas WILL keep you up. Most of them have caffeine in them. Cutting out caffeine might be helping you sleep better.

Im not sure but it is impossible to not drink at least once in a week because you would dehydrate and your body would dry out you would be weak and it would be hard to move ..

Yup. Alcohol, even though a sedative, actually impedes your REM sleep which is key to CNS repair and to having a restful, refreshed sleep.
