I'm a full time grad student with 1 year left. I work part-time and pay for most of my own expenses. I lived in an apartment with some friends for a while, but I ran out of money. I couldn't afford all of my expenses on a part time income. I can't work full time b/c of my school schedule. I get mixed reactions from people when I tell them I still live at home; some tell me to stay as long as I can, others don't seem to be so understanding/supportive. What's the general feeling on a situation like this?

My son is 27, still lives at home, and as long as he "obeys the rules of the house" , is welcome to. I don't think there is one thing wrong with you still living at home.....finish school, then decide what is best for you. If it's to still live at home, then, so be it!

I lived at home until I was 25. I was working full time and going to school full time though. My parents never payed my bills for me and I did pay rent. I don't see anything wrong with it as long as your productive. I'm a systems admin. and everyone young and single where I work still lives at home. They all make good money but everyone has chosen to stay at home until they get married or move in with a partner.

Your living arrangement shouldn't be anyone's business but yours and your family's. You are attending grad school and it doesn't seem like you are a parasitic person, so I don't see why anyone would have a problem with you moving back with your parents for the time being. Unfortunately, societal pressures are immense in Western countries, so I am not surprised that some people aren't as understanding as others.

If you are responsible and respecting and appreciating your parents and their home I cannot possibly see a problem with you living at home. Life is tough today and parents want to be there for their children if they are working toward constructive goals, not drinking or drugging and contributing to the household helping with what needs to be done around the home.

Good Luck. I feel certain you will make out just fine and your parents are and will be very proud of you.

do no longer experience too undesirable, that's unlike you're 33 devoid of interest residing at domicile! a minimum of you're doing some thing with your existence, sturdy for you!! My sister only at present moved out of my parent's place and she or he's 25. She became into busy getting her degree and paying off her debts. residing on your guy or woman is incredibly costly, so which you're incredibly doing your self a favour by ability of residing with your mom. you will possibly no longer think of of this, yet being by myself would be LONELY! once I first moved out it became into 3 hours remote from my father and mom domicile, and that i felt completely by myself. sturdy success!

I don't think it's wrong, as long as you have plans after graduate studies. I think you're doing good since you are taking responsibility for your expenses. Just continue to thank your parent(s) and since you're in school, don't feel bad. I think you're doing great! Having said that, don't take the advice of "staying as long as you can."

I don't see a problem since you are going to school. In hindsight - it's probably the smartest thing to do. I think as long as you're respectful and not crying and whining for mommy and daddy to pay your bills, it's kewl....... Finish school, secure a career and go from there, you'll be better for it in the end.

no but don't stay TOO long. My aunt is 41 and still lives at home. So you should move out when you get enough money and feel comfortable with it.
