Regardless of tweetybird's answer, I can confirm that there are many who do not call on God under any situation. How do I know - unlike her, I have not been on a lot of falling planes, thank God - but I have worked in hospitals, and I have seen quite a few dying atheists, under extremely stressful conditions, who make no mention of God, nor do they intend to.
Personally, I believe in a higher power, but I think it's important to be honest about the experience of all our brothers and sisters -especially those who are dying.

I must agree the whole "devil" association is insulting, especially to our intelligence. But I also agree that that particular phrase has become extremely mainstream; I would say it for emphasis in everyday life out of habit... but if I was dying? Why would I say "Oh God"? Honestly, I'd probably be thinking about the last video game I played (or was playing). Ha! And as a side note, an atheist is not someone who's never heard of god, but a person who does not worship or even believe in a deity.
To summarize: if a person did not believe in anything supernatural their entire lives, what would make them switch over at the last moment? They wouldn't feel any urge to go towards a completely ridiculous proposition because they were going to die. No atheist is scared of death.

Whether a person is athiest or thiest is not an important factor. God doesn't love a person who prays HIM for the sake of praying, and does the worst things to people, rather He loves those who never thought about him, but still could extend their helping hand to their fellow people. Have we seen God? We are worshipping those who were born on this earth / atleast we believe that they were and who were exemplery in their lifetime. They only became great and are being worshipped for leading their lives on the principles they believed. Our lives are worthy only when we are useful to someone in our lifetime.
Like wise, an athiest who is dying may also say something depending on his own personality. He would probably think of something he /she liked the most in his life time.

First of all,
i would like to tell my friend that its atheist not athiest....
but question is never wrong...
so i have to answer......
only few people in this world would be able to say oh! God those were the true lover of God.....
Now if the person is atheist then he doesn't believe in God, so there is no chance of Oh! God its definitely its something else.

no, it need not be so. a true Athiest will never "go towards supernatural". only those who pose to be Athiest will reveal their weaknesses at the critical juncture of their life's journey.
the belief in god etc indicates that the human race is still unable to understand, comprehend and interpret the real phenomena of nature. the belief in god may not automatically prove the existence of god. it proves the limitted sphere of human understanding of the vast nature.

Last thing generally depends upon the trsining one imparting throughout life along with the surrounding situations thus in most religion its suggested to spend the time by repeating the god name so that it becomes easier for anyone to reach to the god without any thought.
But its all surrounding & the nature of indivadual which make him to say god or dog.

The question asked is wonderful. Why man utter God on their troubles
People who are believer of almighty i.e God.People need a supenatual companion to solve their problem so they go to God because they know the power of the God,The person is frusated by solving the problem and tired of this and so they tell God to relief themselves shortly of the tension that someone is there beside them to solve their queeries.
The non beliver of God who is called Nastik doesnot utter the name of God but believe the nature as supernatural and also believe its the fate, timing and harwork can solve their problem so they doesnot utter the name but believe on it but on other name.
and they also cannot deny on the nature power.
There is some supernatural power who controls the space the name is different one tell as God other Nature or something else.

An athiest will remember God while dying because he during
life span remaines egoistic posing himself before all, though
he might have been God-fearing within himself . It is the soul which remembers God not man .

You are correct.
Further the feeling for God is there in everyone's mind may be hidden deep in some particularly the Atheist and that has to come out spontaneously when s/he is dying.
It is an amazing phenomenon and also the God's Game!!!

I disagree with you. Even when I was Catholic for over 25 years I never believed in God ( I remained in the religion so long to make my Mother happy, then realized I couldn't do it anymore). I converted to Buddhism (Buddha is not a God). I know when I die, depending on my Karma, I will be reborn or become "extinguished" and one with everything. Because I believe this I am learning to not regret the past or worry about the future, but to live in the moment, here and now. You can't possibly know what is in every humans mind at death. People rarely speak right before they die.
