Yes they had representatives at the game (chris bosch as a player for the raptors and steve nash's home land). I'm not sure if they would sing it if there weren't any representatives. At the all star game they might sing it regardless, but at a regular season game between the bulls and knicks or any other non canadian team it wouldn't be sung.

At North American baseball and basketball games at least, a national anthem is sung to represent all participating countries. (Usually Canada & the United States). It's just PC.

So like if two American teams played, only the US anthem would be sung. If an American team played a Canadian team, both would be sung. If two Canadian teams played, only the Canadian anthem would be sung. Since the all-star game represents a league comprising teams from both Canada and the US, both are sung.

It is sung because canadian teams home games are in canada eg. Toronto Maple Leafs the allstar game was played in canada.

Because Dr. James Naismith (Creator of Basketball) was born in almonte, canada or somethin and i believe the Phoenix Suns Point guard Steve Nash was in attendance!
