Im a plus size woman and im also pregnant. Clothing companies must not think that plus size pregnant women need maternity clothes. My wal-mart, sears, JC penny, fashionbug, motherhood, or khols dont carry plus sizes in there stores. I dont understand why? Has anyone else had this problem and did you feel left out sort of bc your not a size 0-18?

Why don't you try Lane Bryant or Just My Size. Both have a great online store as well. Both of them are really stylish with maternity wear and designed specifically for heavier women. It stinks to see big stores not carrying them, but I love alot of the stuff that Lane Bryant has. I have had this problem at Wal-Mart and those other stores as well. I am a size 18 but my hips have spread (though I haven't gained any weight) so I am in a size 20. I had the same problem. They do need to get better at having more of a plus size selection. Also, even though their plus size fashions have gotten better, they still need to improve on their fashion for overweight women. *LOL* That is just my opinion. I also, wore huge clothes before I was preggo because I always have liked baggy clothes so I have alot of clothes that were huge on me (when it came to pants) to begin with that I didn't throw away (lucky me).

Motherhood has a plus size collection. You may need to order online though. We have 2 Motherhood stores in my town and 1 carries plus sizes and 1 does not. I did a search for plus size maternity and found other places to order from online. What I hate about that is I can't try it on. : (

OMG! YES,YES,YES!!! Especially when I was pregnant with my oldest daughter in 2001, there was absolutely nothing, I actually lucked out and found one decent outfit for my baby shower!! In 2004, when I was pregnant with my youngest daughter, I was just like you were, not only was I big to begin with, I also had the weight from my oldest daughter still hanging on! I ended up buying alot of my maternity clothes online where they do offer plus sizes(Motherhood). But I think it's an absolute shame for these companies to be able to get away with this, do we not count? God bless! (sorry I just had to vent)

I have the opposite problem. All I can find are clothes that are plus size and nothing in my size. I see them all the time at walmart and thyme maternity. The small sizes all look like extra large. Try those stores

In texas, the motherhood carries plus size way in the back. I ususally shop there or burliongton. The problem that I always have is finding shirts that are long enough.

Sorry I've not, luckily I have a mother that is obese and I wore her clothes, I also went to the men's section and found "big and tall" clothes.

Have you tried Target, or just going up a couple sizes in normal clothes? Clothing companies think all women are built the same.

Good Luck!

KarensMaternity.com has a page dedicated to companies that carry plus size clothing. I would definitely check that out.

Nope, I have seen plus sizes at Maternity Thyme / Maternelle, its also they only place I've seen maternity petits. Apparently these manufacturers also don't believe that short women need specail clothing as well, and hemming regular pants doesn't always work, my lower torso is smaller/shorter then regular height women too. Good Luck in your hunt!

well im just barely fitting into their biggest size they have (the xlarge 17-18) and i agree with u, it sucks alot. im not huge looking, but unfortunately i have large hips and thighs which has made it sooo hard to find clothes that fit. i have for the most part given up, im just going to rewear the two jeans i bought in the biggest size i found at walmart lol

No, but I could only imagine how you feel. Just see if you can order online or from a catalog. I wish the best for you and your pregnancy. Take care!
