It might not be dead. Try wiping it off and letting it dry. After you feel that it's dried out enough, try connecting it to your computer.

There might also be a topic about this at the iPod support forums. Try: http://apple.com/support/ipod

If you haven't had your iPod for a year, you can use the warranty to get a new one.

If your iPod is dead then you can search eBay or Amazon for a discount on a new one.

Best of luck! xoxoxo

(Note: Those telling you 'It's not dead...' are stupid buttholes, replace butt with the anal meaning noun of you choice. How cruel are they? Pssh...)

Note: This is for battery replacement but since part of replacing the battery is removing it, this should work just as well

Water and electronics don't mix well. But... you might get lucky. Let it dry out for a good week (I'd suggest removing the battery). Try it again, if it doesn't work then take it into the Apple store.

Once I spilled a strawberry milkshake on my Apple laptop, and I had just purchased it. I thought I was done for. I left it alone for TWO weeks (not one like the other person said). I turned it on, and it's been working for 7 years. Leave it alone for two weeks and then power it up. It worked for me.

Do NOT listen to that person and bring it back under warranty- that covers manufacturers defects, no way does it cover water. If you get it to work again, and it doesn't work perfectly, THEN you can take it back and say 'it doesn't work all the time"

Ipod's and mp3 players in general do not like water very much. Better start saving.
