I have a HP pavillion 4900 laptop which battery is charged and computer works fine when is pluged to the outlet but as soon I unplug the power supply cable, the computer turns off even when the battery is completely charged. I already checked the system and it's recognizing the battery and it's charge but still don't want to work with just the battery. Is not the power options either. What is wrong with my laptop?

You never said how old the battery was, it could be the battery is dead and is not holding a charge, do you know anybody with a similar computer so you could try their battery? batteries don't last for ever
