I have my 10yr reunion coming up, but find not much interest in going. I have stayed friends with those who are true friends.

I have a great group of girlfriends that have always been there through high school and after.

No not really. When I was in school I always hung out with the crowd that got into trouble or was with the people that like to challenge authority. After I got out of school and found my own direction things changed for me.I settled down and got my act together.I chose not to go around old friends because I didn't want that life anymore.I'm doing OK and I sometimes look at some of the people I hung out with and I see so many problems with them.I'm glad to have found a better way and I'm happy that I was wise enough to recognize it when it came along.

No. People grow and change as they mature.

Some of them stayed the party hearty types and I grew up. Some became addicts and I didn't. Some settled down very young and had huge families. I didn't. Some just moved away and we grew apart.

It isn't a big deal. I don't think most people stay who they were in high school. Our tastes and opinions change, as do our choices of the people we want to invest our time and energy on.

I am happy with the people I have chosen to be friends with as an adult, that way I can keep my eye-rolling to a minimum.

Yes! I have some of the closest, best friends. They helped me thru a lot of really bad stuff growing up and never ever let me down. They are and always have been genuine, and loving. When we see or talk to eachother, even if it has been months, it is like we have never been apart!
I credit my 3 closest friends, (one since the 3rd grade and i am in my late 30's) with helping to stay sane and secure during lots of garbage in my life and help me to get to where i am today. In fact, thinking about them makes me miss them so much! We all moved but we still love eachother!
Thanks for the question and the memories it sparked for me :)

yes, well kind of. i've known most of them since elementary school but i moved away in 9th grade and i facebook them once in a while; a couple of them i IM them every few days. all of the crappy friends i met at the new highschool i don't even want to talk to anymore. i'll only make an effort to keep friends if it's worth it. why throw away all that good history?

we talk when we see each other but thats about it. you will find that as each year goes by and you get envolved in your seprate lives you meat new friends and drift away from the ones you had in school. it is a natural thing and it happens to everyone. even if you try hard to keep it from happening it will happen you just slow the process down
