I had a positive OPK on Feb 7th & 8th (possibly on the 6th also). My husband and I had sex on the 7th, 8th, 9th and 11th. On the 13th-16th I had some unusual bleeding. It was mostly Brown, some red ... came and went usually would happen in the morning then go away by the afternoon. It kind of looked like the end of a period. I have PCOS and Lupus and very irregular periods. I had a miscarriage in October of 06 and my last "period" was Nov. 22, 06. I thought maybe it was a weird period and PMS but my breasts still hurt, im really tired and I didnt bleed enough for it to have been a period, but who knows .... Also, I did a pregnancy test yesterday that came out negative.

I am confused ... Please help

It could be too early for the HPT to pick up increasing hormone levels. I'd wait another week and test again. If you can't stand the suspense, call your OB/GYN for an appt. I have PCOS and had similar symptoms and wound up being pregnant. Also, considering your miscarriage, PCOS and lupus status, ask your doctor about being tested for thrombophilia. If you are positive, treatment early in pregnancy can help prevent miscarriage.

In the meantime, start taking prenatal vitamins, or at least women's vitamins with 100% RDA of folic acid. Good luck!

Not all pregnancy tests will come out positive right away. In my second pregnancy, I tested one week and came out negative, thinking I was just having an irregular cycle. However, the next week I went to the hospital because of migraines and I was pregnant!

I would definitely see your doctor and have them run a pregnancy test at the office. If you don't want to do that, wait another few days and take another pregnancy test. The spotting you described can happen during pregnancy.

Good luck to you! I hope you're pregnant!

To be sure, go to your doctor and take a test. It might just be an irregular period but those are signs of pregnancy..brown spotting, breasts hurting, sleepy etc.

It could have been implantation bleeding...this occurs about 6-10 days after fetilization has occured.....I would wait a few days and re-test and if it is still neg I would go in for a blood test just to be sure....Good Luck!

I have PCOS also and my doctor says that people with this have lots of yeast infections and bacterial infections. Although a yeast infecton you normally do not spot blood or a brownish discharge but with a bacterial infection you will. You should see your doctor. He/She will be able to answer this for you and get you on meds asap. Good luck.
