4 boys for every 1 girl equals 56 boys for how many girls?
Divide 56 by 4 and you see there are 14 girls. 56 boys plus 14 girls means there are a total of 70 campers. If the ratio of non-swimmers to swimmers is 6:1 means there are 60 non-swimmers and 10 swimmers. Since 2/5 of the non-swimmers are girls, 2/5 times 60 equals 24. So there are 24 girl non-swimmers. 60 minus 24 means there are 36 boy non-swimmers.

there are 4 boys for every 1 girl, so if there are 56 boys, that means there are 14 girls

this also means that there are 70 total kids at the camp (56+14)

the ratio of swimmers to non swimmers is 6:1, from this you can figure out that 60 of the campers are swimmers, and 10 are nonswimmers

if 2/5 of the nonswimmers are girls, that means the other 3/5 are boys. So, 6 boys are nonswimmers (10 *3/5)

if 6 of the boys are nonswimmers, and there 56 total boys, that means that 50 boys are swimmers

4/1 = 56/x so x=14 (the amount of girls there)
14+56=70 (total number of people)
70/7=10 times 6 equals 60 (number of swimmers)
5/5 - 2/5 = 3/5 (girl swimmers)
3/5 of 60 = 36
60 - 36 = 24
24 boys are swimmers
