He plays a doctor who's wife dies in a bus crash in South America. His dead and dying patients start talking to him in his dead wife's voice which leads him to South America in search of his child.

The Movie was Dragonfly with Kevin Costner. I believe the wife was in South America and the bus crashed. She was rescued by local natives but died after giving birth. He goes down and finds the child. The movie was weak. It could have been a lot better.
