My cpu goes from 2ghz down to 900mhz every few secs because the voltage drops on its own. I have a athlon 64 3800+ x2 with windows Vista and 2gigs of ram. My bios has the voltage set at 1.344 and I have no idea why it would drop on its own randomly to 1.101. Please help

It's called AMD cool n' Quiet and it's enabled in the BIOS. It;'s designed to lower heat when you dont use processor intensive apps.

I believe that cpu has a variable voltage setting that steps down the cpu speed and voltage depending on cpu usage. Check your advanced bios settings to see how this can be managed.
