They say when i pulled both the shafts out theres a pin that comes down and i have to lift the pin up some how in order to slip the shaft in . so how do i lift that pin up inside the trans. to put in shaft.

my car is a 1991 plymouth acclaim. when i look in where the shaft goes theres something blocking the way.

What kind of car? I have pulled many drive shafts out and always popped them back in the same way they came out.

There shouldn't be a pin blocking the way. All you have to do it start the axle into the trans and give it a quick shove. It should snap into place. It may take a few tries, but that is how to get them in. I've done hundreds of those and have never had a problem putting one in. The pin you see is probably the differential pin. That shouldn't move at all (it holds the differential gears in place and if it moves it will cause severe damage).

The pin has a hole in it that will align with a hole in the casting. the hole in the casting has a small metal plug covering it. You have to push the pin up to align the holes and stick a phillips screwdriver or a large nail in the hole to hold the pin in place while you reinsert the halfshaft.

depends what kind of car it is.some has c-locks and some are floating axles.
