ok, got some good answers so far. if tiajuana is a "junkyard" then what border town do you think i should visit instead? somewhere south of arkansas would be best. but anything midwest would do.

I had the greatest time in Matamoros! It has a really bad rep, but it was soooo fun and just south of Brownsville, Texas. It is also really close to South Padre Island.

A border town? How about San Diego? It's on the border. El Paso is a bit of a junk yard. Brownsville TX is also a junk yard.

if your objective is to into Mexico than I suggest Ciaudad Juarez, if you want to stay in the US El Paso TX
