Scorcese films are best. Casino is not however, the anecdote with the fired bumbling nepotism employee cannot be true, he would always be kept to appease the regulators...
a good one is also with J Nicholson as Italian, Patriarca's honor.
Goodfellas prob. is best depiction of milieu. However, the people appearing with big gifts shortly after the Lufthansa robbery are not too likely as you don't piss off a known killer. The recent "Departed" shows major mobfigure associating with the unmade informer, i.e. he would have had to kill someone bef. being trusted..

i havent seen much but yea the Godfather is a great 1.... the 2nd version was also good i didnt quite get the 3rd version.....
