I know not to bathe it often, this will just dry out thier skin and make them stink worse.
But on the occasion that you do bathe your little fuzzy, How do you go about doing it? how much water, what kind of shampoo? How do you bathe them without scaring them? Every pet I've had had been scared to death of water, and baths eventhough I tried to make the process as stress free as possible.

I started bathing mine when he was very young, so he got used to it and even seemed to enjoy his baths. I would use the sprayer in the kitchen sink, using warm (but not hot) water and a deodorizing soap for ferrets that I got at the pet store.
If every pet you've had has been scared of water, then you are probably a bit stressed at bath time yourself and your pet may be picking up on that. Try to keep yourself calm before you start and do not scold your pet if he starts to struggle. Start with his tail and move toward the head, making sure not to get water in his eyes or ears.

some like bathes, and some don't. our female liked swimming around in the tub. our male was too messy for that, and we gave him a "shower". go to petsmart or some place and get some ferret shampoo. let them get wet, and lather them in shampoo. rinse them out, then cover them in a towel to dry them, they will look weird when they're done, but perfectly normal, and fuzzy once they are dry. use warm water only, and if using a bath, try carefully not to let their head go under water too much.

good luck!!

I take mine in the shower with me. It is so much easier than trying to keep them in the tub and wash them. I use baby shampoo. I have given them baths, and it is such a mess. So I switched to showers. But in the summer, they both love the water and will climb in when the kids takes their baths.
