I am a LOVER of music, and I am kinda dependant on music to survive (not literally), so I am afraid that the ipod will not last long, or that the compnay will no longer supply Ipod, making all my music on my ipod no useable anymore. Down the road do you guys think that will happen, or do you think, that the ipod mp3 stage will last for my entire lifetime, so that I won't have to loose any percious music? If so what can I do to have a backup of everything, so that I can put my music on any thing that comes out new, after the ipod phase?

apple will last a long time because i remember the mac's when i was a child and am 33 now and the apple ipod alone makes alot of money and has call centers all over the world. So yes it will last

yes they will last for a long time becuz apple is making more new products and more ppl would like to buy the item.
