Learners permit question....NJ?

I am soon to be 16 in September acutally...i have a question when do i can get the permit like once i turn 16 do i go to DMV or i wait to take the test in school? or do i go earlier...SERIOUS ANSWERS

I take it your talking about "drivers ed". You can do it either way you want, but by waiting for the drivers ed test, your car insurance will be a lot cheaper.
