I think two good real basketball movies are Coach Carter with Samuel L. Jackson and Glory Road with who knows who. Another funny basketball movie if you want some laughs and a basketball story you should watch Rebound with Martin Lawrence

"Hoosiers" starring Gene Hackman is an excellent basketball/sports movie. It's a little older, so it may seem dated now. If you like movies a little more cutting edge, check out "Above the Rim" or, most recently, "Coach Carter" with Samuel L. Jackson. Good luck in your search.

Best basketball movie I've ever seen is
Rebound: The Legend of Earl "The Goat" Manigault
Awesome movie, and Don Cheadle is fantastic in it.
A sometimes-sad story of the player that Kareem declared to be "the best I've ever played against".

my favorites are coach carter and love and basketball. But theres alot of them out there and there not hard to find! Now crossover has come out on dvd looks like a good one!

I dont know what age group.. but if you're not looking for like little little kids coach carter is a GREAT movie. glory road is another good movie.
