I hadn't seen the movie in years, and today it showed up on an 'oldies' station. I had forgotten just how good it was. Excellent performances by both actors.
Another great line from the movie: "I got the motive which is money, and the body which is dead!"

In the film, "Contact", when John Hurt grins like a cheshire cat and asks Jody Foster, "Would you like to take a riiiiiiide?" He was offering her a chance to be the only human to travel through an alien device to meet beings from another world. Wow. I whooped.
