Not many people are lucky enough to find a crowntail. I have two right now, one is deep blue and the other is red with a blue wash. They are beautiful.

Since yours is a crowntail, why not call him King Edward (of England), King Ralph (John Goodman played him in a movie) or Kingfish.... Kingfish was the name of an old comedian in a Vaudeville comedy routine (he was black, but that shouldn't matter). I remember him, I guess that kind of dates me, eh? Sushi is always a good name for a fish, too...

Good luck. Just take care of him well. 30% water changes every 4 days and don't overfeed him, it will foul the water. Bettas are tropical fish and need temps in the area of 76-82 degrees to stay healthy. Low temps will compromise his immune system and then his color will fade, he will become listless and eventually he will die of some opportunistic disease.

Bettas are carnivores in the wild and should be fed a high protein diet with treats of blood worms and brine shrimp (both frozen). I never feed mine pellets, I believe they cause digestive blockages. I feed mine a high protein flake called BettaMin by the Tetra Co. It comes in a small yellow can that will last for months.

Bettas live up to 7 years in the wild, in our "care" they rarely last more than 2. Read up on them, they are great fish to have as pets.

Name him Paula for me. I really want to name a fish Paula but I can't add anymore fish to my tank right now. And him being a macho betta, he can handle a feminine name.
"Paula" :)

Green is a soothing color, and he has an Energizer Bunny attitude. To match those differences, I would name him...

Flandose or Zaphod

Other people's names for fish are for other people's fish. You need to pick one that is good for you. I think Leon is great!
