Who would they trade, and why would they trade for them? Have you watched the Pens lately? I wouldnt want to screw up that chemistry and young core of players that they currently have. I think that a trade would hurt the team.

Why do the Penguins need Tkachuk or Guerin? In the case of Tkachuk, they have affective lefts in Colby Armstrong, Dominic Moore, Ron Petrovicky and Jordan Staal who can also play center when needed. In the case of Bill Guerin, who's a right winger, they have Recchi, Ouellet, Christensen and Jarkko Ruutu, all of whom are excellent when called upon. Plus with the added skills of Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, in terms of forwards, the Pens are outstanding. They are an outstanding, brilliant, solid, young team with solid defence, incredible offence and a goalie, Marc-Andre Fleury, who is 22, in his second year playing professionally and has completely blown away expectations. Forget Guerin and Tkachuk, they're old news. They should go to another team who are willing to pay a ton more for them. I mean Sidney Crosby's only in an $875,000 contract, being payed less than guys like Brooks Orpik and John Leclair, yet the guy has 90 points already. This is a genuine hockey team and they should stay where they are right now.

I dont think they will be able to get Guerin simply because the price for him is high and the Blues would ask for one of the kids that the Pens wont give up as part of a deal (and I am not saying they would want Crosby or Malkin or even Staal). Tkachuk would be a more likely possibility as the Blues will likely except a draft pick or minor leaguer that fits their needs. Now that the top guy (Forsberg) has been dealt the price for those two has gone up, the bidding will be pretty high in the west for Guerin as teams will try to counter the Preds deal.

Well, they have a ton of young talent to trade... but would they want to? I mean, they haven't lost in ages... they are the hottest team in the NHL...
One thing I have noticed over the years is that the team with the best record in the last 30 games of the season very often has a good run in the playoffs. Do they win the Cup... less than 50% of the time... but a good run in the playoffs would be great news for this team.
They are so young and so talented... this could be a great experience year for them... one that is happening far sooner than expected.
I am not a Penguins fan, but evidence does suggest that this team, as it is now, could be great for a long time coming. We all know about Crosby and Malkin... but Fleury is playing as well now as any goalie in the NHL.
A handful of elite players and a great goalie... that is something you want to hold onto rather than trade away for has-beens like Tkachuk or Guerin!
Regards,
a Toronto-born Leaf fan who knows his hockey and sees a dynasty in the works for Pittsburgh if they simply hold onto their team!

NO! no and no those players are the guys who carry the blues the blues would be lucky to have any wins if they didnt have those 2 there is no way they'll trade em unless the pens are willing to pay a big price as in giving up a good player on their roster which is unlikely

No serious shot, Blues are looking for youngsters and pens have them but They will never trade Crosby to Stlouis. Both teams have different needs and are not in the place to trade with each other. Other teams will give more.

Thet shouldn't go for either. Tcachuk showed up overweight at training camp and is a bit of an underachiever. The Pens needs to shore up on defense.

Do you think they are going after either? If they wanted them then yes. I don't think the Penguins are going to give up what it would likely take to get them.
