Whats better HD DVD or Blue Ray DVD?

I would think blue ray since it plays in 1080p and hd-dvd only does 1080i. but if you don't have a 1080p tv, then it wouldn't matter.

i have seen both and i own a ps3 and blu ray is by far better. its really not even close. the color and sharpness of the picture is amazing on blu ray. hd dvd looks just like a regular dvd to me, just a little brighter.

I've heard that Blu Ray is better, but I haven't seen it for myself just yet.
