To wear them on chinese new year i mean here...

if cheongsam is old fashioned by some people, is that means that people didn't actually proud their cultures?hmmm..

if 2010 trend is bare naked...will people follow that trend in 2010?

I just thinking and want to know...

I agree with firefly. As a matter of fact, as time goes by, evolution has occured and cheong sum has come a long way. It is still very well-received.

However, nobody says Cheong Sum was never the only traditional clothing for Chinese New Year - I think you misunderstood that. Traditional colour, yes - but not traditional costumes..

actually u are not quite right in your statement, traditional clothes are gaining more popularity over the years, esp cheongsam which are much favour by the chinese over in China, businesses in cheongsam wear has been booming, and over in Singapore, the cheongsam business is also been rising, but it's not exactly traditional, it's a mix of cheongsam and modern dresses, the tops still remains traditional but the skirts portion are more design to be modern wear, so it's a mix of both here.

Would you wear clothes we whore 200years ago on any of our holidays? Do you dress up like a Pilgrim on thanksgiving? I know that sounds like I'm being rude, but occasionally I like answering questions with questions. sorry, but I see why they wouldn't.
