What do you think about a 12 year old girl going to the movies with a 12 year old boy and his parents. This is a first boyfriend. I know the parents and they are nice.

It sounds absolutely fine to me. It's a lot better than going alone with the boy. I think that's a fabulous idea!
Good luck

I don't know. I think 12 is a little young for that kind of thing. However, I think something like this needs to be judged on a case by case basis. I know some 12 years olds who are going on about 6 years old, and other 12 years olds that seem like they are in the 20's. Depends on the maturity level of the kids I guess. Nice to see it being done with the parents, though.

If it were my daughter I would let her go. What's the real harm? She's gonna be growing up faster than you like and you should make her first "date" a positive experience, the more you are involved (and accepting) the more likely she is to include you in future boy decisions as she gets older.

Sounds good, I told my daughters that that's how we'll go to the movies on their 'preteen dates'...I'd sit in a seat a few rows behind them to give them their privacy, but the boy would feel my gaze on the back of his head, that's for sure. LOL

As long as the boy's parents are responsible, that the girl's parents knows and trusts them, and the girl's parents approve the movie- then it is great!
