For some people it has. People in general, rely more and more on technology which leads to the world getting more impersonal. This is very sad for humanity. :(

Not at all, what it will do (and already has done) is give people another way to meet.
I have made some wonderful friends via chat rooms, Friends for life.
You just need to feel comfortable enough to meet in person....
