all of the fish you have listed grow quite big. The Oscar and Balas to over a foot long, the Pacu to 3 feet long. You can start off with this, but common sense dictates a 55 gallon is not a suitable home for them in the long term. Instead of making the 55 gallon into a tiny cell for fish that should have hundreds of gallons, why not make it a little paradise for smaller fish that can have room to grow and thrive.

no no no no no....none of those fish can live happily in that tank..even if they were by themselves. Oscar needs 75 gallons, Pacu needs a Very large tank, I'm talkin, 300 gallons or so, and the balas really like to be in groups, so you should keep at least 4-5 of those in at LEAST a 75 gallon tank. Try an african cichlid community, Im sure it wouldn't dissapoint.

Sure, the Pacu will out grow the oscar, and when the Pacu gets to it's adult size and you move it to the City aquarium, the Oscar can have the 55 all to himself.

No Oscars get to be really big and they are agressive!

it sounds fine. your tank sounds big enough, just make sure you have another tank for the oscar if he gets agressive.
