My guess is that women are biologically inferior.

I would be curious to know the gender of the person who asked this question. Frankly, women have contributed to society from its beginning in an essential and vital way. While the men were out hunting, the women gathered crops, cooked the meals, made the clothing and reared the children. So, their contribution to the evolution of society has always been very real. In other words, every great man had a mother who influenced him an nurtured him until he was old enough to go hunting with Dad, and by then his personality and character were fully formed. Men dominated women by their size and physical strength alone. Read a little about this and you'll understand how women were not allowed to own or inherit property, pick their husbands or even learn to read and write in some societies. It's only in the last hundred years or so that women have gained any real rights in society. There was a first woman to vote, a first woman to enroll in medical school, etc. Men have always had these rights. Finally, do you think God would have entrusted the woman with carrying a baby for nine months if he felt she was inferior to man?
Women have common sense that men don't have. We wouldn't be fighting wars still if women were in charge. Life would be much more safe and pleasant if women ran things. So don't say women don't contribute. Men just bully them and shut them out, that's all.

The human race could not continue if babies weren't being born. And you know you're completely wrong about women contributing so little to society. There are many professional women out there. There are almost no jobs that a woman can't do that a man could. Being a mom is also something to be proud of and a real job too. Good moms who instill good values, morals and ethics in their children do a lot to better the world. It is sad that you don't realize this.

Are you kidding me? Who do you think you are asking such an ignorant question? Women have contributed in more ways than can even be listed. And for those of you men who answered something to the effect of women being inferior, shame on you! Do you not have mothers?
We may not read much about women in history (mainly, I believe, because our history was primarily written by men) but that does not mean they didn't contribute. And in multiple areas as well. Marie Curie, Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Jane Austen, Sylvia Plath, Susan Lori Parks, Sarah Bernhardt, the women who fought for voting rights, the women who marched with Dr. King, the Virgin Mary, Joan d'Arc, Queen Elizabeth I, Eleanor Roosevelt, Nancy Pelosi, the women who took over and ran the working class during WWII, women who fought at the front lines of battles in disguise because otherwise they'd be punished. How can you belittle their contributions and their struggles by asking such a question?
I hope that this is some sort of research where you ask a hot topic question to see how people respond but do not actually believe what you've asked.
I have and intend to continue contributing my share to society and hope that in the future my efforts will not be minimized by such unresearched inquiries.
BTW, March is Women's History Month. Maybe the links below will bring the enlightenment you (and a few others who've responded already) so desperately need.

What do you mean about women contributing so little to society If it wasn't for women, there wouldn't be a society. WE are the ones that make the babies that grow into adults to change the society. If it were left up to men to have babies, we would soon die off. The saying, Behind every successful man, is a successful woman. If it weren't for women, society definitely wouldn't be anywhere near what it is today

Probably because of cultural and biological reasons. Historically, they were focused more on homemaking and their own families. Today, the same holds basically true but women seem to be focused more on themselves than others. It is quite possible that a biological difference in men and women exists that makes them tend toward mediocrity and the "average."
The "women haven't been able to for centuries" argument is old and insufficient; why then did some women become doctors, write literature, and perform other duties? Furthermore, with all the benefits afforded to women, why have so few created new technologies for humanity today? Is 40 years not enough when the computer, the Internet, and other such developments have been made by men?

Actually, I think women have contributed just as much, because if it weren't for them, men would be running around naked and/or dirty, and then die of starvation. (Who washes the clothes and cooks the meals?) That might sound silly, but it has a lot of truth to it. Besides all the women who, throughout history, have made significant contributions, there are all those unsung heroines who have backed up the men, either their own or those in the workplace, in so many ways, along with all the women who can do many things just as well as a man can - and do them.

How dare you!! And you yourself being a woman? As one example, Rosa Parks on that Montgomery Bus stood up for something she believed in. Without her, segregation could very well still be alive and untarnished in our United States of America. If she had not refused the white man his seat, where would the US be today? And what about all of those women who stood up for women's voting rights? Without them, women today could still be in the background, not involved in politics in any way. And women in politics makes a difference, believe it or not. And as a last example, in World War II, those women who went to work when the men were away fighting in the war proved that women are in fact more than the pretty faces who cook and clean and provide the world with babies. And as a current example, we have many female soldiers defending our nation in Iraq and other countries overseas. What is the matter with you? Just research all of the contributions that women have made, and I assure you that there wil be just as many, if not more, than what men have done for society. Gosh almighty! <3

Your real question of importance is yet to be expressed.Men don't dance around such trivial dramas. We have no respect for purposely injected confusion and therefore no tolerence for lies-no matter how complex. Us men have an inate abillity to discerne truth from fiction. Many women have gained a level of trust whithin the community of truth.I feel that 1 honest women is worth 2 lesstruthful men in a bind.

Women have contributed a great deal to society, You just have not heard about them, the web site below is only for the ones that were in social works etc.
Where do you think Columbus got his ships to discover America?
there are so many women contributors that it would take too long to list them.

Well women have only recently really had chances to contribute to society. In years past, women weren't allowed to vote and many would hire men before they even considered women for jobs. Women were even sometimes looked down upon for seeking higher education, unless they were going to be a teacher.
