I am not one hundred percent sure what you are asking, but I'll answer what I think you are asking.
To set up a LAN (allowing you to share files and devices between computers), you must have both computers somehow connected to the router - one is already connected wirelessly. The other one can either be wired to the router, or you can use a USB-wireless LAN adapter to connect it wirelessly too. Both computers (with a bit of luck) should now be able to connect to the internet. To connect them to each other, you must name them (right-click My Computer on both of them, go to the Computer Name tab, click the Change button, and give each computer a different name but the same workgroup - e.g. Bedroom for the name of one and Kitchen for the other, and both on the workgroup MyHouse.) Apply these settings. You must then check that File Sharing is enabled on both computers. Go to the control panel, then Network Connections, then right click the connection(s) that the computer is using (if you are unsure, do this on all connections shown), go to properties. Then make sure File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks has a check beside it. Do this for both computers. Restart both computers. Select things to share (for example a folder on the drive) by right-clicking them, going to Properties, and adjusting the settings under the Sharing tab. Now check the My Network Places (if its not on your desktop then right-click the dektop, choose the Desktop tab, click Customize Desktop (near the bottom), tick the My Network Places, hit OK on all of the open windows. Open My Network Places and click view workgroup computers (over by the left). Hopefully you should now see one computer from the other. If you don't, then click Set up a home or small office connection in the My Network Places window and follow the instructions.
This should answer your question.

If it has a LAN connector, put the router close to it and use the standard cat-5 cable. Most routers have a cable connection as well.
Make sure you lock down your security well!!!
