No
Having a fever is a symptom not a disease.
A fever occurs when the body is fighting off an infection, causing heat levels to rise.
Since placing ice cubes on the head doesnt help the body fight off the infection, a "cure" isnt possible.
What a cold compress does do is relieve discomfort.

Not really. It can help to reduce the heat on the skin, but sweating helps to cure fever. You can also soak in a lukewarm tub which would reduce your fever. If you have a child that has a high fever, the doctors suggest that you get them in a cool bath, not cold.

Good Luck, hope this helps.

No because the fever is everywhere in your body. A quick way to lower fever is to lay your whole body in ice cubes. That will bring the temperature down fast, but it will also leave you weak.

you can put ice in a bucket near your head and have a fan blowing the cold air onto you. keep clothing to a minimum, take some ibuprohen or tylenol to help break the fever, when you shiver it is moving the blood to the surface and then it can be cooled off. Feel better dear

It might help you feel better but it doesn't stop the fever. A better way to bring your temp down is to have a lukewarm bath. NOT cold because you will get chilled which makes things worse.

No! Take a cool bath or put cool compresses on your forehead. Take Tylenol or Motrin. Also, you may want to go to the doctor so he/she can determine the cause of your fever. You may need an antibiotic.

It should lower your fever by cooling you off...not cure it.

I believe a coolish bath would be better. Be sure you're warm enough when you go to bed. With luck, you'll sweat it out tonight.
Fever fights infections, but sometimes we needs meds, too.
