I washed my phone, it was a bummer. I'm just curious if anyone has had to deal with verizon's phone insurance before and specifically if water damage (accidental washing) is covered.
Thanks in advance!

Just tell them that your cat knocked it off a ledge into your fish tank. I didn't something similar.

The best thing for you to do is call Verizon's customer service and ask them. Be upfront with them about the water damage. They will know if you lie about it having water damage when it gets opened since there are water indicators inside all new phones.

"Yes, this coverage is provided by third-party licensed insurance companies (Asurion or lock\line). If your phone is lost, stolen or accidentally damaged, report your claim within 60 days and the phone will be replaced. As a convenience to you, the monthly fee for this service is charged directly to your Verizon Wireless bill.

* $4.99 per month per phone.
* $50 Non-refundable deductible per approved claim (to be made payable to Asurion or lock\line at the time of the claim).
* There is a 2-Claim limit in any 12-month period (beginning with the date of the first loss).
* $1500 claim limit (inclusive of a $200 accessory limit)."

Thats what Verizon says.

Insurance won't cover water damage. Contact your insurance company to be sure...

Yes, that falls under damage. Asurion's phone number is 888-881-2622. They will need your phone model, the date you originally purchased it (the date you signed the contract) and a credit card or check by phone for the 50.00 deductible.
