your dog is not gay, that is ridiculous. what they are doing is establishing themselves as the more dominant of the two dogs and humping is just a way one will try to show the other who is boss. dogs will do other things such as bumping each other at the shoulder, biting each others ears, holding each other down but humping seems to be the common favorite of "i'm showing you who is boss" display of power for most dogs. as for your child, animals are a great way to show children the circle of life although it is agreed that the topic of sex might need to stay unaddressed for while. now then, we may need to address the subject of punctuation marks while writing... :)

They are not mating, they are just mounting to try to show show dominance. There is no point in separating them; they are obviously good friends. Meaning no offense, you are misinterpreting this more than your daughter is! If they haven't already decided, they will decide who is the top dog, and the top dog will do most of the mounting. Again, they are NOT mating. Dogs are social animals and they have an instinctive need to figure out who is boss. There is nothing wrong and there is no point in punishing instinctive behavior.
I assume the girl will be spayed so your dogs will not really be having sex.

it relatively is attainable for some dogs to have a somewhat, er, different sexual orientation. however the explanation some dogs mount one yet another (while no longer breeding, extremely for sure) is they decide to declare dominance over the different. the explanation he is going in the direction of different dogs's behinds is through the fact he's smelling their anal glands. while dogs have been undomesticated, everytime they excreted the anal glands would additionally grant a sticky, foul-smelling smell to mark the dogs's territory. via domestication, dogs have misplaced use of this yet nevertheless use them to % out one yet another via getting a huge whiff or 2 "in there". My dogs, Abby likes to "hump" pillows. Abby is a she, and that i've got by no ability seen the reality that she may be bisexual. It relatively certainly relies upon on the way your or any dogs's primitive instincts function. So, your dogs would the two be frightened of the female gender, or such as you have reported, "gay". so some distance as i understand, there are no longer any checks nor golf equipment for gay dogs. stable success with him!

If your female is in heat and they were near her, you were near her, or another family member was near her then touched one of the dogs or both, they will pretty much go crazy and try with the closest thing that's alive and has the scent. Also a female dog in the neighborhood might be the cause if it was in heat and close enough to make them think it was the other dog in heat then that could be the cause.

Good grief - there is nothing wrong. They are dogs, and behaviour like that is natural - it's all about status within the pack. Don't separate them, as it will just make them lonely; dogs are pack animals, and need companionship.

Your child won't notice or care unless you make it into a big deal. Relax.

I have 2 girl dogs who hump each other all day everyday, I dont think they are gay. lol

Actually from what I have read dogs hump to show dominance so it could just be they are trying to establish who is the "pack leader". As far as the crying part they are probably just attached to each other and do not like being alone.

keep them seperated for a wile keep one in the house if you can and keep one out side, at least until you get the chance to get one fixed.. you cant really say if a dog is gay or not, he might just need the attention... but still keep them away from eachother for a wile,,,
