I'm trying out for the school's show choir. I need a pop or broadway song. Please help! I am an alto. I usually cannot hit high notes that sopranos can.

I'm an alto too, but I can also sing soprano. Anyway, a good you could sing is "It Ends Tonight" by the All-American Rejects or "Over My Head (Cable Car)" by The Fray. I'm not sure about a good Broadway song. I'm not into musicals all that much.

"I Could Have Danced All Night" from My Fair Lady would be perfect. It's a bit dated, but would be familiar and a pure show stopper. Right exactly in the alto range.

"On my Own" or "I Dreamed a Dream" both from Les Miserables
If you're REALLY good, try "Once Upon a Time" from Brooklyn the Musical
One of my FAVORITES is "Mama Will Provide" from Once on this Island.
