It is up to the owner of the business whether or not to accept pesos as payment. He is the one that will pay the fee to exchange them for dollars. Pesos should not be legal tender and nobody who does not want to take them as payment should have to. On my recent trips to Europe since the introduction of the euro, people who take dollars usually wanted a premium to cover the exchange costs.

NO! The dollars and cents are based on the decimal system. To change to pesos would be much more confusing than attempting to change to the metric system (which by the way still hasn't worked in over 200 years of trying).

The American dollar is recognized (and preferred) worldwide over the currency of most other nations. It is more stable, less reproducible as counterfeit, and more recognizable than any other currency.

If you are in Mexico, pesos is the currency of choice. If in the United States, you use US currency. The only money I have seen used in the US is Canadian currency, as I live in a border town in Michigan, we do accept their currency here.

Of course not! This is America. I don't care if people from other countries come here to live like my family did long ago, but when you're here you become an American.
Speak the language, work, use dollars and cents..

This is a pointless question, considering that no one in the US uses or has any interest in using pesos.

When I was in Mexico, I used PESOS.
When I was in Spain, I used PESETAS. When I was in Italy, I used LIRA and EURO. When I was in Saudi Arabia, and other middle east countries,I used DINAR. When I was in France, I used FRANCS. and on and on and on.
I really don't understand your question or the reason behind it.

What do I think of it? Not much. This is America and our currency is dollars and cents. Makes sense to me.

We would have gotten rid of the one cent coins if there wasn't so damn many of them; why bring in something else that is nearly worthless.
