Is the disk a rewrittable one (CD-RW)? If it is, you don't have to erase anything, you just save new songs as though it were a brand new disk.

If the disk is not a rewrittable one (CD-R), then you can't save new songs to it. You have to pitch it if you don't want it.

There are 3 kinds of CDs

Writeable - Re-writeable - And ones that can be erased but only if you totally erase them... forget the name of them...

You are probably trying to use a writeable cd and that doesn't allow you to change the disc once you've finalized it.
