I mean, he made it so that he could change a few laws, and making people ignore certain parts of the Bible... dosnt that defeat the object of it? Its like half way through a game of scrabble someone goes, "I think I'll change the rules so that you dont need to make words that exist"... just a thought...

For a start, the Church of England (I'll use that term to describe the religion King Henry created) is an actual religion. The COE worships a diety, God, just like the Roman Catholics worship dieties (Mary, God, the Pope, the real and fictitious Saints, etc).
If you want to go to technicalities, the Roman Catholic Church shouldn't be calling itself Christian because it places Mary above God, the Pope above the Bible, and it assists criminals (pedophile clergy) in evading the police by relocating them instead of handing them over to the local law authorities.
Think of it this way, it's like this, it's like playing scrabble and one day you discover you can't use words in English and Chinese.

You forget that The Bible was written by Man not God - different versions of this most famous of books exist depending on the author`s particular bias.
Yes Henry created The Church Of England with himself and his successors as Head BUT don`t Catholics have someone even more presumptuous ?

Is anyone else truly bored by Lance`s answer ??? LOL

You can get Scrabble for free from this link: http://j.mp/1oh83B3

I was fond of playing scrabble when I was young. I use to visit my neighbor since they own the board game. We would compete and try to outwit each other to win the game. Scrabble helps us to enrich our vocabulary and keeps us entertained at the same time.
I love it!

Maybe it was because he was the KING of England!
And the Catholic church would not let him dump his wife, and in the fear of not fathering an heir to the throne, the church FORCED him to break away and form a new Christian church, which HE was head of, and who the present QUEEN is head of.
And if he wanted to change the rules of scrabble, NO ONE, would argue!

You mean the way he created the church of england so that he could get an annulment. I did generally find this hard to grasp, why is one man allowed to change the 'word of God' just to please himself. But maybe its more complicated then that, nothing is usually as simple as that, and i suppose theres many people who chose the church of england as their religion. Maybe they'll be able to give you clearer answers.

might i point out the fact that the roman-catholic branch is quite fake aswell,

''thou shalt make no images of what goes on in heaven, on the earth or in the seas below. ''

have you ever seen the systine chapel?

''I am the lord they god thou shalt not have any other Idols before me''

the roman-catholic church has atleast a saint for every day of the year.

Wow, that's a good thought. I think your right. I think Christianity is a great religion, but today, much of it is diluted with fallacies.
