I'm trying to install a 2-3000W inverter on my semi truck to run a couple compact appliances. What is the best alternative low budget to set up a AC voltage in the Semi truck ?

You should use at least two deep cycle batteries for the inverter, seperating your cranking batteries with a battery isolator.Your alternator will not put out much amperage at idle. That inverter will pull just over 200 amps DC when your AC output voltage is around 25 amps.

You are going to have to hook one that big directly into the batteries. You will need at least "0" size cables, but the manual should tell you what size to use. You will also need a fuse or circuit breaker in line, again, check the manual for the proper size.

If your inverter doesn't have a low voltage shut down, you will have to keep a close eye on your battery voltage. A 3K can run them down pretty quickly.

A couple compact appliances? You could run two fullsize space heaters on 3000 watts!
