Well, nature is not an anthropomorphic entity, so although we may personify nature in our speech, we should recognize that this is just a rhetorical device. Nature isn't fair or unfair to anyone or anything; this is just another way to say that there is no justice in the universe. And indeed, there is not.

I don't see any.

Nature is pretty awesome for all of us. Let's look at what we have. An earth where we are all dependent on the other. Nature is included in that system of renewal. There are all kinds of devices built in as protective features, from our tempers to our fears. Even a cactus has some protection. You can freeze a flower seed or stomp on it and it will come back again. It is a very loving environment to protect turtles with hard shells and to give humming birds the beak shapes they need to match the flower they must have. Nature is a pretty good provider. Life is unfair, however, in that some end up with short lives, painful lives, and others seem to dance through life without a care in the world. I don't know why that is. Sometimes people make bad choices and suffer because of it, but often, it is just that "into each life some rain must fall, and some seem to get torrents." You just have to make the most of the cards you are dealt. Enjoy the good parts because no one really knows what is around the next corner. No one.

First I think one must first realize that everyone has different concepts of what fair is. This is to say that what one person may see as nature being loving to them is actually looking as it is being unfair to that person from anothers perspective. Furthermore, I do not think that nature has any concept of either of these to things, so if it is being unfair and loving, it is not conscious of it. This, to me, shows that it far to detached of a construct to try and tie to nature.

If life wasn't unfair to some people you wouldn't know life was being fair to others. It's basically the law of averages, if there isn't evil in the world there would be no reference to determine what was good.

Nature is incapable of fairness or unfairness,You're imputing human characteristics to something which just, well,is.The course of one's life is dependent on other factors, the foremost of which are the decisions and actions that that person takes in the course of their life.

Nature is not kind to anyone or unkind to anyone. If you feel that way then it's your subjective view point. I can say that when you go against and are not in compliance with the laws of the nature then you are at disadvantage.

it isn't. nature doesn't care about you. life is ruled by cause and effect. (We Buddhists call it Karma.) A series of events lead to how someone is at a certain point of time. Within an instant that can change.
