Forget the odds makers!! As Chris Berman always says, "That's why they play the game." The Cubs have as good a chance as any team in the NL. If Sweet Lou can keep his cool for an entire season and let this team develop, they will win 90 plus games and be right in the thick of the pennant race. I have a feeling it will come down to the Cubs and the Phillies to see who ends up in the world series.

They would first have to win the division which is probably about a 30% chance or go as the wild card which is actually about the same..then to progress thru 3 rounds of playoffs. I owuld say about a 10% chance of the Cubs winning....I have to admit I did like the awnser of the 1 in 30 awnser because its a brand new season

This year, anythings possible, look at the 2003 NLCS team compared to this year
1B Eric Karros - Derek Lee
2B Mark Grudzilanik - Mark Derosa
3B Aramis Ramirez both times
SS Alex Gonzolez - Cesear Izturiz
LF Moises Alou - Matt Murton
CF Kenny Lofton - Alfonso Soriano
RF Sammy Sosa - Jacques Jones
With Soriano it gives a huge boost in both HRs and Stolen Bases
also, the entire infield is much better

the main question is health
if the cubs stay healthy, their starting lineup is very potent with Lee, Soriano, Ramriez, and Barrett.
the pitching is the only concern, if Prior is healthy and can pitch somewhere close to 2003, they will have a great rotation to go with a great lineup. that being said Lilly should do better in a weaker division, Zambrano is one of the very best and Hill showed signs of brillance at the end of last year. if Prior is healthy and back to normal the cubs very well could win 95+ games
they are also in the weakest division in baseball and all you have to do is get in

I'd say not likely. Although they have a great roster on paper they have been horrible for a long time. Its hard to say that one player and a manager can make all the difference from the worst NL record the the world series winners in one year. But you never know. I have my money on the Phillies this year.

About the same as the Flyers winning the Stanley Cup while under the management of Ed Snider.

They have a good shot at winning if Prior and wood can stay healthy. If they both can there already in the playoffs but sadly I don't think it's possible they can both be healthy at the same time.

This question should be in the weather category...as in when hell freezes over.
No matter how much they spend, money doesn't buy championships, team chemistry does. Yankees spend the most and haven't won the series in years. And no steroids do not count as chemistry...
