The washer is less than 5 years old and it fills fine, but when it switches to agitate and do the actual wash part, it clicks like it is trying to get going but doesn't. it rinses and it spins... help!

It could possibly be a problem with the wash cycle solenoid on the wig wag. Possibly a wire loose, missing solenoid pin or anything that would keep it from operating the gear shift. It might be the belt. Though 5 years old could be getting close to time for a new one depending on the amount of laundry you do.

Sounds like a broken belt. Most reputable repair places would not charge that much to come and fix it. It would be much cheaper than a new one!

well judging from what you say, i'd say your best option is to LISTEN TO YOUR BOYFRIEND who said it was the belt in the first place Sam lol
