My old dance studio was really good until the teachers started to quit. I thought that I was really good, but then I went to a different studio and realized that I know nothing. My new studio is great, but I don't know that much due to my old studio. I don't know as much as I should know, or at least that is how I feel. What should I do?

Try to take as many classes as you can, or see if it is possible to get private lessons, so that you can catch up. One of the biggest things is to make sure you know terminology, basic steps and good technique--these things will make you a better dancer.

As for flexibility, stretch! Stretching everyday is the best answer for that! Also, it is easier to stretch when your muscles are warm, such as after a hot bath or shower. Your muscles will be more relaxed and it will be easier to stretch! Finally, stretching should and will hurt, so don't be afraid of it. It will be worth it in the end.

The best key to becoming a good dancer is to be versatile. Learn as much as you possibly can!!!...even when you think that its difficult just do it anyways and at least you have learned that style or technique. I have been to a lot of schools in my high school years and seen a lot of competitions and these kids learn from all over the place....take classes on everything from hip-hop to ballet to swing and by knowing the basics of each style you will become a well versatile dancer and that will make clients wanna book you and you will be noticed....

Um to make you more flexible you need to S-T-R-E-T-C-H it out when you watch t.v stretch when you read stretch when ever you are not doing something lol stretch it will make you more flexible and make your jumps and kicks better....maybe even stretch for like 30 mins that way you know that you fully stretched...

Stretch every day, but very carefully and correctly. Knees must be truly straight (but not locked) for the stretch to be effective. Flexibility takes time and consistent persistence. More classes is good advice but learn a lot and find really great teachers. Reading doesn't hurt, there are many books and magazines and web sites.
