I am creating a couple of photoshop tutorials for students I teach, problem is that when I "print screen" to get a copy of what I am doing then paste the image of the screen in my compiled tutorial and print it the image resolution is only 72dpi and it prints badly...how can I copy a higher resolution of my screen to create the printable quality tutorials?

Using Photoshop, just switch the image to indexed color mode, then change the resolution from 72ppi to 288ppi. Switch the image to CMYK (for printing), save it as a TIFF file, and away you go... a high res. screen shot with no distortion or fuzziness.

Hope this helps

Your application must be dropping the resolution of the image by default. You should paste into save from Photoshop and then import in into your application. Check the application isn't just displaying a low res version for speed.

72 dpi in the context of a screen capture is quite alright. If the quality is that poor (if you're running low resolution 1024x768 or less - eek) - you can increase the resolution of the screen first (1600x1200 works nice on 4:3 monitors, otherwise the maximum your monitor supports.)

No. You should go to church and pray that you will never again mistake an ugly rock for Virgin Mary. If you close both eyes, the same rock also looks like Bob Marley, your girlfriend or your pet rock.
