Yes but we are a DYING breed, most of us successfully off ourselves by 21 but for the select few of us that can't finish the job off right we are the true emos.

If you really stop and think about the meaning of the work EMO--it would be realized that everyone and anyone can be emo..EMO derives from the word EMOTIONAL..(obviously :D) and everyone has feelings and no one has happy feelings all the time..we all have our ups and downs and we all think that life sucks sometimes..some are just more extreme than others..hence, EMONISM emerges into the picture..so yes, a 28 year old dude CAN Technically be emo, but there must be something really f***ed in his life for him to be so

I'll be 28 next month, and I'm not entirely sure what emo is.
It sounds like he has an unhealthy fascination for the culture of the younger generation.

i guess yes, but that sounds so freaky. I know like 15-20 year old, or maybe up to 22, 23 being emo but not 28

Of course.
Everybody needs to feel unhappy about themselves once in a while, cause drama, and listen to some kind of melancholy music (even if it's hardcore).
The music and dressing habits reflect career emos, the ones who make it a point to be blue, and show it off.
It's usually a sign of immaturity to not be able to deal with sadness or hopelessness......BUT it's also a fashion/character statement when people "deal" with it by dressing the part, and listening to music that matches "the mood".

Anybody can be anything at any age they want , I have seen 80 year old men dancing at a club where there are 18 year olds mostly. A lot of rock stars are in their 30s. 20 yr old movie stars play teens in movies.
