Me and my friend are planning a movie marathon party, we came up with a couple of ideas like soda fountain, candy counter, and great prizes, but we still would like some more creative input

Thanks for the great food ideas, but know we're in need for cool activities

My wife and I have always talked about opening a restaurant/movie theater, where you could sit down and eat dinner while you watch a movie (something like the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin Texas). What we plan (and what might be a good idea for the party) is changing the menu up depending on what's showing at the movie. For example, if you're showing Jaws, you might have fish. Or if you're showing Lord of the Rings, you could serve some sweet flat breads. For horror/zombie films - chili. (eeeewwwww!) Use your imagination!

Hi:
That sounds like fun! If you want to make food, you could pop up some popcorn, and make some caramel corn or popcorn balls with it - that is always sort of fun. You could also get some ice cream freezers and make different sorts of ice cream, frozen custard, frozen yogurt, sorbet or anything like that. Yum. You might check out the recipes at Epicurious to get some really tasty ideas. You could make or buy cones or have root beer floats, or have brownies with the ice cream.
Hope this helps, and maybe gives you some more ideas.

I think the key is your choice of movies, for instance, if you have a James Bond marathon you can do spies, make everyone wear trenchcoats, and drink out of martini glasses. or you could choose gone with the wind, and have everyone speak in a southern drawl and say "fiddle-de-dee" and have corn bread, or potatoes and dramatic readings of "As god is my witness, i will never go hungry again!"
or die hard movies, and have crawling through ducts competitons, or disney movies and have trivia contests.
we once had a wedding reception to celebrate the marriage of some tv characters, you can decorate for the wedding with bells etc, make people pull out their old prom dresses or bridesmaids dresses for the party, serve sandwiches with the crusts cut off, and kool aid punch with ginger ale in a fancy punch bowl.
there is no end to the options!

Depends what you want, I like "without a paddle" or "dodgeball".
Comedy stuff for a party.
