If I can't sleep, I paint my fantasies in my head, in as much detail as possible. This can range from imagining myself sleeping on the beach at night, hearing the ocean waves, to an extremely colorful night with Sean Bean. Or Billie Joe Armstrong telling me he could never write his music without me as his muse. The trick is to imagine every last possible detail. These are ongoing stories! How did I manage to get into BJ's dressing room? What am I wearing? The important thing is to get your mind off the insomnia, or whatever is at its root. Forget the outside world and let your mind capture heavenly stories with you as the heroine!

Sometimes insomnia is brought on buy little changes you might've made. Has some thing been stressing you out? Try to relax. I used to have insomnia. But once I stopped stressing so much, I was able to sleep better.

I don't have insomnia, but I went through a period where I wasn't sleeping well at all. I tried Lunesta and it worked wonders, but when I took it I had better be planning on spending about 9 hours in bed with no reason to get up, because it knocked me out. So I tried Melatonin 3mg extended release pills (GNC)....they are great...they don't knock you out, but allow you to have a good nights sleep and they are natural.
