No. There's a reason it's old-style, and not because it looks weird. It's not used anymore for the welfare of your face and its health. That's why only punters and kickers use it, because they rarely have pads getting put in their face and other facemasks in their face and hands reaching for something to grab and wrap up. the one-bar isn't going to help much with those things.

That's up to you. I play linebacker and fullback and they used to have me punt.. but they didn't want to chance me "getting hurt" LOL
I would never wear one of those.

if you are a punter or a kicker go ahead......but if you are not use the 3-bar....it will protect you better......
