The Departed is a good movie but mostly violent.
For kiddies, get Open Season.
Saw 3 is a great horror film.

For a great horror movie, forget "Saw III" and rent "The Descent" instead. It's probably the best horror movie in the last couple of years.

The Ring is my favorite horror flick, or you could always go for the classics like Children of the Corn or Dawn of the Dead (new or old, both are good). Comedy wise I just saw Porkys for the first time and though I was going to cry it was so funny.
