Your deck should have 40-50 cards. I would recmmend you have more monsters than traps and magics.

Pick a theme for your deck. Warrior, Spellcaster and Machine are pretty good. You deck should have 40-60 cards. I suggest you have less cards so its easier to draw your best cards. Monster cards should be more than traps and magic in total. Build your deck then after a few duels see which of your cards work and dont work and start customizing. I went through this same process and now my deck is nearly unbeatable.

First: Study the cards you already own. Second: Think of a theme based on the cards you know you own. The theme can be based on one type of monsters or attribute or even a mixed theme. Hint: Mixed decks are alot harder to work with. You really have to study the posible strategies. Third: Make it an even split between spells\traps and monsters. 20\20. You'll hit your theme alot faster if you make it a 40 card deck. That's about all I can tell you.

well you deck should contain about forty cards you can have more but the recommended amount is 40 you should have 20 monster and 20 magic and trap cards now your monster should support each other eg jaden deck deck is filled with hero cards or you can have two types like dragon and machine if your deck is built around one monster then include cards to draw them or have multiples (3 is the limit for most cards) rare cards are a must so you have to spend some money some good cards that help improve any deck are raigeki, pot of greed, mystical space typoon, change of heart, monster reborn, call of the haunted, dimension wall

you must decide on how many cards you wil put. but it would be better if you will make a deck with cards around 40. each card must support other cards. you must make one strategy only. although in the game, factors affect how you play. also a theme may help. theme decks usually are better than mixed decks. thay are related to each other that it is not hard to battle. a good ratio is one monster for one magic/trap card.

Your deck should have at least 40 cards. Usually you want to have monsters that act together. Like one's that summon another one. Have a few high leveled ones. A good amount of lower levels that you can summon without sacrifices.
6 high levels
15 low levels
9 magic cards
10 trap cards.
